Vladimir Yakushev, the new head of Minstroi, has been introduced to ministerial staff by Vitaly Mutko, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of construction and regional policy. The newly appointed minister previously held the position of Tomsk Region Government.
Vladimir Yakushev has already noted that in his new assignment the main task will be “to maintain the current pace of work of the ministry, and disseminate the best regional and federal achievements made in construction and utility sectors [throughout the country].”
Without exception, all the experts set the creation of a rental housing stock among the priorities. “Fascination for mortgage issues starts to go off-scale,” says G. Khovanskaya, Chairperson of State Duma’s Committee on Housing Policy and Utilities Sector. The task for development of rental housing was set seven years ago. There are already some examples, – says the deputy, mainly this is rental housing built around new plants. However, housing problems of teachers and medical staff have not been resolved so far. “The development of a civilized rental housing market, both for-profit and non-profit, should be a top priority for the Ministry,” said N. Kosareva, IUE President.
