Aleksander S. Puzanov is one of the founders and General Director of the Institute for Urban Economics (IUE), Professor of the Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism (HSE). Before the foundation of IUE in 1995 he worked at the Institute for National Economic Forecasts. In 1984 he graduated from the faculty of Geography of Moscow state University. M. V. Lomonosov. In 1990 he received the degree of Candidate of geographical Sciences.
Leading expert in the field of regional and urban development, management of municipal economic development, housing policy.
Aleksander S. Puzanov has significant experience in participating in international projects in Russia and CIS countries, including the MBRD and EBRD projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Armenia and other projects. He participated as an expert of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe on the management of social housing. He managed projects to develop strategies for the socio-economic development of Russian cities.
Mr Puzanov took part in the preparation of the draft Housing Code of the Russian Federation and the concept of reforming the housing stock for social use, and in the preparation of proposals for the social and economic strategy of Russia until 2020 in terms of the state housing policy (updates of The Strategy 2020).
Aleksander S. Puzanov is one of the developers of the State program of the Russian Federation "Providing affordable and comfortable housing and urban utility services to citizens of the Russian Federation".
